A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending The Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum‘s special event featuring the B17 bomber that flew in WWII named Aluminum Overcast. This was my first event of this sort so of course I had to bring my camera along! On Saturday night they had a hangar dance featuring some fine singers, bands and dancers with the massive B17 lit up in the background. Guests were encouraged to dress in period clothing which really made for a fun atmosphere. Then on Sunday, Aluminum Overcast was open for ground tours where people could actually crawl through the airplane and see what it was like on the inside. There were a couple other impressive airplanes, jeeps, bikes and a restored WWII weather truck on display too. It was a photographer’s playground! I loved photographing the details of the different vehicles and talking to those who had restored them. The amount of detail that people had put into these things was quite impressive. Here’s a few of my favorite images from the event and if you would like, you can view the entire gallery here. This was such a fun event and if you have a chance, I highly recommend attending it next year!
