Featured in Rocky Mountain Bride | Denver Wedding Photographer

Happy New Year everyone! I sure hope 2014 has been great for you so far. I’ve got some exciting news to share here at Kristina Lynn Photography & Design – I’ve been published! That’s right, one of my beautiful images is gracing the cover of the Winter 2014 issue of Rocky Mountain Bride Magazine! This is so very exciting for me because I have never had a cover image before, let alone an entire feature in a magazine. It’s so great to see my images in print and on newsstands – a dream come true for this Denver wedding photographer!

This image came from a beautiful wedding styled shoot I worked on March of last year. What is a styled shoot you ask? It’s when wedding vendors get together to create a somewhat “mock” wedding, where we get to try out things we’ve been dying to do, collaborate with different professionals we haven’t had the pleasure of working with, to create something beautiful and unique to share with brides. This styled shoot started at a brainstorming session between me and Marisa from Feather & Twig Events. She had the idea of doing a traditional English hunting theme, but we wanted to bring in a little Colorado luxe style. The Evergreen Lake House, with it’s grand log cabin feel, provided the perfect backdrop. From there Marisa hand picked other vendors to bring in on the shoot, making sure each person had something unique to bring to the table. For example, we collaborated with Maggie Evans Designs who created a stunning, one of a kind hand made silk gown with patchwork lace and featured an original love poem (written by Helene Rose) appliqué down the right side of the over coat for our bride to wear. Todd Reed Jewelry loaned us a few of his gorgeous organic jewelry pieces and Lacielle Roselle created a beautiful handmade hairpiece to complete the look. Amanda from Studio 3 provided the hair and makeup for our bride creating a nice polished look for her.

At first we were going to keep our shoot simple, featuring a beautiful tablescape, but then decided we wanted to create a couple different vignettes to tell a complete story of what this “wedding” would look like in real life. Our main tablescape started with an amazing, hand crafted wood table by Cajun Moon Designs. We then pulled in beautiful red chairs (provided by Chairs with Character), leather placemats, and gold place settings all arranged around a stunning antler chandelier from Lodgepole Interiors. Kim & Jake’s Cakes, Sweet Family Secrets, and Sweet Nomelie all came together to create the wonderful desert table while Good Ol’Fashioned Party stylized the Scotch corner vignette. Bella Lu Floral did all the floral arrangements, tying in deep red and crisp cream blooms, green foliage and feather accents. Tasha Rae Designs worked hard to create a one-of-a-kind invitation, menu card and place cards that featured wood grain and leather accents paired with a deep red pattern to help balance the feminine and masculine tones in the shoot. To top it all off 4N Pictures was there to document the whole day on video!

A big thank you to all the vendors who participated in this shoot. Without your talents this shoot wouldn’t have been such a success. Also thank you to Jeremy and Tiffany, our wonderful “couple” – afterall what is a shoot without a “bride” and “groom”!
