Iowa & Denver High School Senior Photography | Amanda’s Carousel Senior Session

My favorite senior sessions are ones that the senior is involved in planning – helping to find a location that really shows their personality and is meaning for them. For Amanda’s senior session, she spends a lot of time up in Clear Lake, Iowa and knew she wanted her session done there. One of her favorite places to shop there is Lyla’s Boutique in downtown and she wanted to do some photos there because their right up Amanda’s alley with bright colors and zebra print accents (Amanda LOVES zebra print!). So we decided to take her awesome prom dress and photograph her in Lyla’s and then also do some fun back alley poses as well. While we were heading to downtown we noticed that Clear Lake was gearing up for their Fourth of July celebration – complete with a carnival! I saw the carousel and just knew we had to do something with that (I’m all about creating unique images that no one else will have!). So after chatting with the carousel operator he agreed to let us to jump on and do a couple photos since the carnival wasn’t officially open yet. I think these are some of my favorite images from the session just because they are so unique! Amanda changed her outfits a couple times, we hit up some other locations and of course we ended the session with her jumping off the dock into the lake. Thanks Amanda for allowing me to play during the session – I had a blast!!
