Lily | Graduation Photos Around Stillwater

This is Lily, one of my Minnesota Class of 2020 seniors. It’s always fun to see how people find me for their graduation photos. Turns out Lily’s mom actually got my information from an acquaintance we had in common when we both lived in Colorado. What a small world! Then they traveled all the way across the Twin Cities to do her senior photos in Stillwater. It was perfect because that way Lily got photos that were different from the other kids in her school.

Lily is quite the accomplished volleyball player. This past year she was one of the captains of her volleyball team and helped lead her team to be state champions. She also got a great scholarship to play D1 volleyball at Elon University next year. So of course we worked all that into her graduation photos as well.

For Lily’s session she wanted a good mix of urban/alley looks, nature settings (with flowers if possible), and something down by the water. Stillwater provided all those looks easily. We started walking just a couple blocks from the photo studio for the urban looks. The landscaping in Washington Square Park is always spot on for florals and then we ended the session down by the St. Croix River. I also love how her mom jumped in a few photos with her. So special!

What are you looking forward to the most during your senior year?
Finally being able to stand at the front of the bleachers at football games and getting to wear gold overalls at the homecoming game. 

What are 3 things you can’t live without?
My dog, my best friends, and my family

What’s your favorite thing to do on weekends?
I love doing adventurous things, such as paddle boarding or hiking. I also love to cook and bake, and draw or do artsy things.

Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

In addition to volleyball, I am the VP of Philanthropy for an organization called National Charity League. This is a group where mothers and daughters volunteer in the community together.

Do you have a job?
In the spring, I work at a prom dress shop called Rubi Jubi, and I help girls find their dream prom dress.

Where is your favorite place on Earth?
My favorite place on earth is Keystone, Colorado. I grew up skiing there, and when I am skiing down those slopes, I feel invincible.

What’s your favorite quote?
A champion is defined not by their wins, but by how they recover from their failures.
