A gorgeous end to a beautiful Colorado engagement photo session
I can hardly believe that Allison and Nick’s wedding is this coming weekend! This year has flown by – it seems like just yesterday we were doing their engagement photo session.
Allison and I go way back. In fact, I used to baby sit her and her siblings back in the day and had the honor of photographing her older sister’s wedding six years ago. I was so excited when she contacted me, asking if I was available to photograph her wedding in Iowa. At the time, I was living in Colorado but her wedding date fell on a time when I knew I could travel back home, so of course I said YES!
Allison and Nick met through some friends while they were living in Ames 8 years ago, and have been together ever since. They are a very laid back couple that loves to have fun. Just listen to their engagement story:
“He proposed on April Fool’s Day. After 7, years I of course took it as a joke and handed the ring back to him and said ‘that’s nice.’ We waited a day to tell anyone because obviously no one would have believed it!”
They wanted to do something different and special for their engagement photos, so what better way than to do the session in beautiful Colorado! They were making a trip out west to see family and it worked out perfectly that they would be coming through the south part of Denver. I knew I wanted to do their engagement photo session at Daniel’s Park in Sedalia since it was close to their route and it’s quintessential Colorado with a gorgeous view of the mountains. On top of it all, they would be arriving towards the end of the day and I knew that at sunset the park and it’s views would be amazing!
I can’t wait to celebrate in Iowa with these two this weekend. It will definitely be a day full of fun, laughter and love!
