Van | Senior Photo Session in Colorado

This is Van! I met his family back in 2014 when his older sister, Marissa, was part of one of my first high school senior Street Teams in Colorado. I still have to laugh because I remember mom, Devi, telling me I could never leave Colorado because she loved my work so much and had 3 more kids to do senior photos for. I reassured her that if I ever did move (which at that time I thought would never happen!) I’d definitely come back. And sure enough, life has its funny ways, we left Colorado 3 years ago and since then I’ve gone back twice to do senior photo sessions with them.

I cannot even tell you how much I love to travel for photo sessions. Getting on an airplane and going somewhere really rejuvenates me! I typically go out to the Denver metro area 3-5 times a year – I love getting my mountain fix while visiting my old stomping grounds and photographing new and past clients. The morning of Van’s session I literally got off the plane and headed straight to Parker to get to work. I had photographed in this area before when I used to live in Colorado, so I knew we’d have some great spots with good morning light to get the nature and city vibe that Van was hoping for.

Baseball is a huge part of Van’s life so of course we incorporated it into his senior session. Van played the shortstop position and was also a right handed pitcher for his high school team. While COVID cut his high school career short, he is looking to continue his baseball career in college and is currently being recruited by a couple different schools.
